Welcome to Trash Blog

***WELCOME TO TRASH BLOG***

After saying for far too long that I was going to set up a blog to showcase Trash of Camden clothing as well as, and probably more importantly, all the new music I've ben fortunate enough to bear witness of late, Trash Blog is finally here. For those unacquainted with what Trash of Camden aims to achieve, here's what might be considered the closest thing to a Trash Manifesto:

WRAP YOURSELF IN TRASH

Trash of Camden aims to use recycled fabric/found objects/old trash in order to produce customized second-hand jackets, jumpers and other clothing. There's nothing off-the-peg here. The aim is to create fun and wearable hand-made items that are guaranteed one-offs. This is the ultimate in recycled, reinvented and re-worked clothing.

'TAKEN HOME AND TARTED UP BY TRASH'

Trash aims to salvage unwanted clothing, jewellery and junk from a life of mistreatment, neglect and inactivity. Taken home by Trash, these items are tarted up to within an inch of their pretty little lives and released back onto the dirty streets of Camden Town, ready to be worn to death and loved by a new owner.

It's almost like Battersea Dogs Home... only with jackets rather than puppies.

The clue's in the name and it's the honest truth that old trash works so much better on these items than anything new. Trash mixes kitsch costume jewellery and pearls alongside junk and ringpulls to create a completely original piece every time, all hand-sewn and tried and tested in extreme environments. Trash has been worn and found to withstand relentless everyday wear, raucous gigs, heavy weather conditions and even kettles in Parliament Square. It's hardy stuff is Trash, and the beauty is that a bit of wear and tear only makes it look better.

TRASH WAS BORN IN THE JUNKYARD....

...And is proud to support local music. That's why it's more than just a label, it's as much a way of promoting new, up-and-coming music. This is where Trash Blog, its rated bands' gigs and regularly updated 'Trash Tracks' comes in. Keep an eye on the recommended acts and live reviews that'll be posted as soon as possible.

Until then, much love,

Kate Trash XX
